Help for Pets of Military Members on Deployment

Posted by on

To our loyal military members, thank you for serving our country. Thank you for all that you do.

Across the country, every day, men and women of the armed forces are sent to training’s, deployments, and re-assignments in places where their pets cannot go. Even on short trips, without a capable friend or ability to afford expensive kenneling services, military pet owners are forced to unwillingly surrender their beloved pets to animal shelters or rescue groups and never see them again. With the probability of being reunited again very low, pets are either (hopefully) re-homed, or more likely, euthanized in animal shelters. Today, 70% or more of the animals that enter a shelter are euthanized. Imagine going off to fight for our country knowing that your furry family may be euthanized because no one else could help.

militarypetsWith the important role pets play in our physical and emotional health, are we willing to let a soldier’s best friend be yet another sacrifice they must make to serve their country? Or will we assure them that their best friends will be safe and sound, waiting for them when they return? Programs like PACT, Organization Noble Foster and Guardians for Solider Pets exist for the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our country every day. These organizations/programs provide the help and support that is crucial to both the animal’s well-being and the pet guardian’s peace of mind.

If you are not a military member and are interested in becoming a foster home for a military members pet(s), please utilize the links below to apply to become a volunteer foster home. You can make a tremendous difference by volunteering in this capacity.
