Featured Success Story: Lucy
Lucy was trying her best to survive as a stray on the streets. A local factory owner did not like that she stepped onto his property looking for food and love, and he began to shoot at her. A local resident witnessed the incident and began working hard to gain Lucy’s trust. In search of help for this sweet feline, A4A was called and stepped up to rescue Lucy. Lucy was terrified when she first entered her A4A foster home and her volunteer foster family worked each and every day to gain her trust. Her hair was matted with knots which most certainly were painful to the long-haired feline. After a grooming visit, multiple veterinary visits, great nutrition and with lots of love, attention and care from her A4A foster family, Lucy made a full recovery and learned not only to love and trust humans, other cats and dogs- but she learned to play with toys, to enjoy bathing in the sunlight that beamed through the windows each day, she learned how great it is to sit on a lap and to snuggle. Lucy was adopted to an incredibly loving Ohio Family where she shares her home not only with humans, but with a feline sibling as well. Within an hour of her adoption, Lucy had made herself comfortable by sitting on her humans’ laps and sharing lots of love with each of them. Lucy truly found a purr-fect home and we couldn’t be happier for Lucy and for her forever family…what an amazing journey Lucy has had and now she knows with certainty that she is safe and loved forever.
